LAKELAND, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2022) – Florida National dominated the scene at the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Cross Country Championships in Lakeland, Florida November 4. The competition field was stacked with schools from all over the country including Fisher College, Haskell Indian Nations, USC-Beaufort, Iowa Wesleyan and Washington Adventist. The Conquistadors finished second as a team in the Women’s 5K for the second year in a row and the men’s team finished third.

FNU men’s team notables: Sophomore David Bellefleur continues a tremendous campaign this season with a solid fourth-place finish in the men’s 8k. His time of 27:13.46 qualifies him for the NAIA Nationals on November 18. Freshman Michael Kipchumba had the second-highest finish for FNU with a time of 28:58.34 for 13-place.

FNU women’s team notables: Sophomore Maryam Abreu’s time of 20:21.29 in the women’s 5k earned her a third-place finish and punched her second trip to Nationals in the last two seasons. Sophomore Mickaela Calisto ended the meet in fifth place with a time of 21:42.74.
