Non-degree programs also take a shorter time to complete.

- They serve as a great alternative for prospective students who are looking to get a college education without spending the time and money it would normally take to earn an associates or bachelors degree.
- They serve as continuing education for students who already have college degrees.
Here are 4 non-degree programs that FNU offers:
This is one of the most demanding professions in the dental industry. As you only get one set of original teeth, it becomes increasingly important to keep them as long as you can! And if for some reason you can’t, then the skillful hands of a Dental Technician will be able to craft and construct a set to look just like your original ones! You can earn this diploma in approximately 22 months.
With this diploma, you’ll increase your chances of landing a career with an insurance company translating medical codes and processing billing paperwork to determine how much a policyholder pays after their insurance provider covers it. While such a job position doesn’t require an associates or bachelor’s degree, a specific type of training is necessary in order to properly execute the tasks within this position. This program takes approximately 12 months to complete.
If you have aspirations of working as a nurse, but don’t want to invest in the academic commitment it takes to become a registered nurse, then working as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a viable option. A PCT works as a nurse’s aid, assisting a registered nurse and is qualified to work in any number of healthcare facilities like hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, and others. In this certificate program, a student must complete 120 clinical hours. But it only takes approximately 8 months to complete.
There are three certificate levels that you can achieve under FNU’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Depending on how well your English is, you can choose to enroll in the Basic, Intermediate, and High Intermediate Level. Any one of these certificate programs can be completed in less than a year, as there are only 18 credit hours to complete here.
What Some of These Programs Have in Common
One thing that you’ll notice is that most of these non-degree programs are in the healthcare industry. That is mainly due to the Affordable Healthcare Act supplying more Americans with healthcare and the increasing aging population. This results in more patients and staffing more healthcare workers to help process all of these patients and their charts.
