2021 Continental Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Honors
First Team

Your Florida National University Women’s Cross Country team participated in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship held in Lawrence, Kansas. The meet was held by Haskell Indian Nations University on Nov 6, 2021

‘For Cottey college. freshman Marinna Mentzel crossed the finish line in 19th place, while Florida National freshman Prisilla Gonzalez came in 24th place. That five-point difference extended Cottey’s three-point edge in the team standings: The Comets had 45 points while Florida National and Florida College each had 53 points.’

‘Cottey junior Ella Page was the top individual finisher title to earn the meet’s Most Valuable Runner award. She completed the course in 19:35.3 – nine seconds ahead of Florida National freshman Mickaela Calisto (19:44.1).

Junior Karina Gchachu (20:06.1) placed third for Cottey, one second ahead of Florida College sophomore Jessie Roth (20:07.4). Florida National freshman Maryam Abreu (20:23) rounded out the top-five finishers.’

Florida National concluded the race with, 53 points.

Florida National University will send CAC First team honors to the NAIA National Championship held in Vancouver, Washington at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Championship Course. The Championship will be held on November 19th. Congratulations conquistadors!
