HIALEAH, Fla. (July 25, 2024) – Florida National University’s Jeremy De La Cruz inks his first professional contract with the Pecos Bills out of Pecos, Texas. The Plantation, Fla., native was a crucial leader on the 2024 Conquistador baseball team that made a historic run at the USCAA Small College World Series in May.

The Pecos Bills are a part of the Pecos League and face off against 16 teams based in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Arizona and California. De La Cruz posted an impressive junior season with the Conquistadors, tallying 34 hits and 14 RBIs in 86 at bats.

FNU recorded over 20 wins for the first time in program history and grabbed four wins in the SCWS as the lowest seed in the tournament. In its first world series appearance, FNU exited DuBois, Pa., with a coveted third-place plaque.

De La Cruz also took home an All-Tournament nod from the USCAA and was the Champion of Character for Florida National at the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament held in Lawrenceville, Ga.
