FNU’s POWERHOUSE

Mission Statement

Dr. Jose Regueiro Foundation, Inc., a non-profit, 501C3, has partnered with Florida National University (FNU), and the FNU Powerhouse to be a force and a face in our multi-cultural communities against the practices of Human Trafficking, Domestic and Teen Dating Violence, and Missing Children. These despicable crimes prey on our children, youth and the public at large. Without a doubt, the damage and shattered lives of those affected and their families are immeasurable.

Therefore, our Mission is to end these societal horrors, especially in our cities, neighborhoods, and diverse communities. The Bible teaches, “Where there is no vision a people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Dr. Jose Regueiro Foundation, Inc., Florida National University (FNU), and the FNU Powerhouse have the vision of eradicating, which threatens the welfare of all lives.

For the past four years, we have teamed up with Miami Dade County Public Schools; governmental dignitaries; elected officials; private and public institutions; members of our various communities; law enforcement entities such as the Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police; Homeland Security; Fire officials; State Attorney’s Office; Media venues and others for the sole purpose of empowering our children, youth, parents, and the community at large with awareness tools, skills, and resources to keep them safe. We advocate that safety and protection come through the knowledge of the symptoms of red flags or indicators that feed these crimes. In the words of one of our Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, whose philosophy we support is that an “ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Our goal is to wipe out these public maladies, which are achievable through awareness education and through the use of interactive communication and intelligent strategies. We are confident that our teachings and strategies which we have used, will serve as a model for other communities to follow. Our Human-Rights Movement, can and will empower human beings with their right to exercise his/her fundamental right to live, study and work in safety and in dignity. No one has the right to abuse or hurt anyone else and we have a zero-tolerance policy for criminals whose intentions are to hurt and rob us of our fundamental rights and peace.

Therefore, Dr. Jose Regueiro Foundation, Inc., FNU, and the Powerhouse, collectively, have conducted outreach programs such as Awareness Walks, Youth’s Skits, Teaching the Domestic Violence Power and Control Wheel, Awareness Symposiums/ Rallies, Social Media as well as T.V., Radio and print coverage, all in an effort to bring awareness and education of the tactics used by criminals to cause physical, sexual, mental, emotional injury and pain to innocent individuals. We want people to learn how to stay vigilant through self-empowerment and knowledge. We want to teach the children, youth, parents, educators, and the community at large how to combat, stay safe and clear of the path of danger and even death.
