The lead changed hands in the third inning with both teams added two runs in the third. The Conquistadors regained lead in the top of the fifth, 5-4, and added a run in the top of the sixth for a two-run lead, 6-4.

However, a two-run homer by WIU tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, 6-6, and a run on an FNU error in the bottom of the seventh, handed the Conquistadors with the 7-6 loss.
