BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team (0-5) continues its search for a victory after another shutout loss. The Lynn University Knights (3-0) used their NCAA DII talent to hand FNU a 4-0 loss at the Perper Tennis Complex in Boca Raton, Fla. Lynn has never lost to the Conquistadors, improving their program record versus FNU to 3-0.
In doubles play, Celeste Deniz Reyes and Natalia Calvo’s match against Kristen Younes and Zofia Podbiol was left unfinished as Lynn picked up two 6-1 victories to claim the opening point. FNU duos Nadia Abad and Vanessa Simone and Karyna Krykunenko and Chiara Fiorenza fell victim to a stellar LU team and looked to regroup some momentum in the singles position of the match.
Krykunenko fell 6-0, 6-0 to Salma Djoubri while Calvo struggled to get a run going before losing 6-1, 6-0 to Younes. Simone had some high points in the match versus Jade Marie but ultimately lost 6-0, 7-5.
