MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 03, 2023) – Florida National University’s track and field team raced to impress on a windy day at the St. Thomas University Track Invite. For the second meet in a row, David Bellefleur reigned supreme in the men’s 800m and 1500m races. Personal bests littered the Conquistadors’ time at the invite, setting the pace for a very successful meet at Monsignor Edward Pace High School.

Bellefleur’s time of 1:59.40 in the 800m and 4:10.89 in the 1500m earned him the number-one spot for the afternoon. It was a competitive field including Lynn University and Webber International. Nicolas Aguado raced his way to the eleventh spot in the men’s 200m. In the men’s 400m Ingmar van Noort’s time of 52.98 landed him in the eleventh slot for the afternoon. He also recorded a 6.29m in the long jump for a second-place finish.

On the women’s side, Maryam Abreu swept the women’s 800m and 1500m with times of 2:27.92 and 4:59.68, respectively. In the women’s long jump, Terralyn Brockington got seventh place with a 4.60m jump and finished fourth in the women’s javelin event with 24.73m. Emmanuelle Streib ended the afternoon in ninth and tenth spot in shot put and discus.
