HIALEAH, Fla. (Jan. 4, 2024) – Florida National University’s rejuvenated baseball program released a 50-game slate for the quickly approaching 2024 season. The Conquistadors look to improve on a historic 2023 campaign where FNU broke the record for most wins in a season with 16 victories. Florida National boasts a rigorous schedule this year, including two teams ranked in the NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll.
The Conquistadors have six home stands in 2024 with all games set to take place at Claude Pepper Park in North Miami, Fla. FNU’s home and season opener is a doubleheader on Feb. 6 versus Ohio Christian University at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Baseball returns to Pepper Park in March with noon doubleheaders against New College of Florida, Mid-Atlantic Christian University and Bryant & Stratton College Albany. The final home series for the Conquistadors will be April 26-27 versus the University of Fort Lauderdale.
Away from home, FNU tackles some of the NAIA’s top teams starting with a head-to-head against No. 12 Webber International University in Babson Park, Fla., on Feb. 21. Notably, the Conquistadors will seek redemption against the RV St. Thomas University Bobcats on March 20 after a 5-1 loss in Feb 2023. In April, baseball is in Lawrenceville, Ga., for two games against No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett College. GGC handed the Conquistadors an 18-1 loss on April 16, 2023.
Notably, FNU baseball travels to Vero Beach, Fla., for contests against the USCAA’s Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Mont Alto on March 7.
