Diagnostic medical sonographers generate images used for assessing and diagnosing various medical conditions using specialized equipment. Most people associate sonography with pregnancy because this is often used to track and generate images of a fetus. However, this technology can also aid the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions in the heart, breasts, blood vessels, muscles, bones and abdomen.
