HIALEAH, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2024) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 209 member institutions named Champions of Character Five-Star Award winners for 2023-24.
The NAIA honored Florida National University with Gold Level designation for the third consecutive year, as the Conquistador scored a perfect 100. FNU is one of only 12 schools in the NAIA to boast such a track record since 2021-2022.
Florida National University is proud to support the NAIA Champions of Character program that goes well beyond the playing field to the daily decisions of our youth. These character values help young people – and those associated with their development – make good choices in all aspects of their lives and reflect the true spirit of competition. The five core values: respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership are put into play, accounted for, and tracked at all NAIA schools.
“Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion,” said the NAIA’s release.
“Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.”
