HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 13, 2023) – Florida National University’s No. 14 men’s soccer team is headed to West Palm Beach, Fla., for the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Tournament Nov. 18. The Conquistadors will face host Keiser University in the second round of the tournament with a kickoff time set for 1 p.m.
Florida National has strung together a brilliant season packed with challenges and intrigue. The Conquistadors head to Keiser with an 11-2-5 record following a heartbreaking loss to Bellevue University in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College on Nov 11.
In the final, the Bruins pulled out the victory in a 5-4 penalty shootout after both teams were tied at 2-2 after regulation and two periods of overtime. Notably, Manuel Rodriguez, Ricardo Delwing and Vinicius Mallmann were all named to the CAC Men’s Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team.
Keiser had a similar outing in their conference final against No. 3 St. Thomas University, but the Seahawks were victorious on penalties 7-6 to claim The Sun Conference title for the second straight season.
Florida National looks to shake off their third-straight CAC Championship Match loss for an even greater challenge: a ticket to the Sweet Sixteen.
