Friendship

Friendship Day is a day for celebrating friendship. The day is a popular celebration in several South American countries, since it was first proposed in Paraguay many years ago … in 1958. In the age of the digital friendships of Facebook and Twitter, to have a good friend on campus is priceless.

Students need friends to get through first day of school. The friendship that you start in university lasts for a life-long time. Many students graduate together, and even often recommend a good friend with Reference letters in the future job search. Think about it, the students you study with could be working with you in the same field of occupation.

Moving away from home and family, and plus starting a 4-year university, could be very stressful for young adults. It is also the most exciting and fun time as well.

People who went to college or university will agree that years spend at the university are remembered by everyone as the best years of their lives, if you prepare yourself how to survive the hard times and challenges. It does not matter, if it is an old friend, a new friend, or a friend for-the-day, just someone by your side who is going through the same experience can make a big difference.

It is not the freshmen group of strangers; your new classmates are engaging in the same educational activities. So, make a friend, introduce yourself: you will do the same home assignments and you can talk and ask questions with your new study-body. Try to make a good first impression. How? It is easy: wear the new school’s colors, come prepared for orientation, ask questions, act like you own the place. Being confident is the way to go, and never be afraid to smile, give a positive vibe to be social with your new classmates.

Surviving the university means to have reliable friends to ask questions and to get help. The student Academic Adviser is the ‘wise’ friend who can guide you in the right direction.

Once you survive the first day and the first week at the university, everything will be going for you easier, when you are not alone and isolated, and with good friends that surround you! Students who attend classes together often do the learning together too. Do not be shy, turn to the left or to the right and say your name to your new friend in class. Meet your new classmates in the FNU Library. There are eighteen individual rooms for study alone or in groups with friends.

People say: “A True friend accepts who you are, but also helps you to become who you should be.”
