HIALEAH, Fla. (May 13, 2024) – Florida National’s Bastyan Hernandez and Jordan Lewis were named Baseball All-Americans by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) following impressive 2024 campaigns.
The USCAA announced their selections and postseason awards May 12 on opening day of the Small College World Series in DuBois, Pa. FNU is set to compete for a national championship as the No. 10 seed in the tournament.
Lewis was named to the First Team in recognition of a spectacular season. Lewis claimed a .377 average from the batter’s box and was solid at the centerfield position with 97 putouts in 47 appearances. His base running and speed was some of the best in the nation, with 40 stolen bases in 2024.
Left-handed pitcher Hernandez was the only other Conquistador to gain All-American recognition with an Honorable Mention. The Hialeah, Fla., native had a 5-4 record from the mound with a 4.50 ERA. He recorded 56 strikeouts in 11 appearances.
