HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 12, 2024) – Florida National University’s star guard Jullie Ruiz Paneto earned her second Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award after the Conquistadors picked up two conference wins over the Morris College Hornets and the Voorhees University Tigers. The first time Jullie Ruiz Paneto was awarded a CAC weekly honor was on Jan. 15.
Ruiz Paneto dropped 24 in FNU’s 59-51 win over the VU. Florida National has won eight straight games thanks in part to Ruiz Paneto’s offensive production. She scored 25 points in FNU’s win over Morris College and went 4-5 from the free-throw line.
“Ruiz Paneto followed with 24 points, with 10 coming at the free throw line, in a 59-51 road win against Voorhees University (South Carolina) last Thursday,” read the CAC’s release. “The guard grabbed seven rebounds in the contest.”
Florida National closes out the regular season on Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. versus the University of Fort Lauderdale Eagles.
